Parish Councillors

Jonathan Brown

Jonathan grew up in Soutbourne, leaving in 1999 to go to University in London, and then live in the Middle East.  He returned in 2007, working as a risk research analyst for a local company.  Jonathan interests include history, languages, food, music and designing board games.  Joining the Parish Council quite recently, he is committed to working towards developing Soutbourne's Neighbourhood Plan.

Chris Bulbeck Chairman

Chris, who is married with 3 sons and 1 daughter, has lived in Southbourne all his life. He has a business in Southbourne which he runs with the help of his family.  He has been a Parish Councillor for 25 years and is currently Chairperson, taking a keen interest in local matters.

Marjorie Bulbeck

Marjorie has lived in the Parish for the last 44 years and has been a councillor for 10 years.  She is the Recreation Chairperson and, with help from the community, has tried to install equipment on the Recreation Ground that will cater for all ages of children.  She enjoys living in Southbourne, being so near the sea.

 

 

Alan Feltham

Alan was born and bred in Southbourne and has lived there all his life.  Taking an active interest in sport, he ran the Southbourne Sport Football Club for over 30 years and has been a member for 48 years.  Alan has been on the Parish Council for 48 years.

 

 

 

Robert Hayes*

Robert came to Southbourne in 2003 with his wife and two children.  Both the children attend Southbourne Junior School and are very happy.  He became a Parish Councillor in 2004 and enjoys the role immensely, as he feels he is able to contribute to the community. He feels very lucky to live in such a wonderful village with so many natural amenities available on the doorstep.

Morley Lane

Having grown up in the local area, Morley moved to Southbourne in 1999. His wife is well known for working in Southbourne Infant School. And his three children all went to the Southbourne infant and Junior Schools, and they too are well known within the parish.

Morley is mainly recognised locally for the Decorating business that he owns. But he also is linked with “Dulux”, where he has represented them at decorating shows and is often used in their national advertising.

Morley decided to join the parish council, as he wants to be involved with local people and local issues. Morley is actively involved at New Life Church in Southbourne. The Church has approximately 100 Southbourne residents attending it, and it serves the community from young and old.

 

 

Alyson Russell

Alyson, married 23 years. Mother of three. Two oldest attended Southbourne Junior school and Bourne Community College. Youngest, almost 6 year old is Home Educated. Living in Southbourne for almost 13 years. I have worked in the community of Southbourne until last year when I became a full time Home Educator to my son.
